Irish Prison Service
Irish Prison Service Headquarters, Longford
This building was the subject of a Design-Build Competition promoted by the Office of Public Works. Keogan Architects formed and led the design team, which advised Duggan Brothers of Templemore in their competition-winning submission to the Office of Public Works.
Keogan Architects provided “Schedule A” Architectural Services from inception to completion, as well as Project Management & Value Engineering. The building is four stories with a floor area of 60,000 sq. ft., and features a dramatic circulation atrium with a sloped glazed wall rising the full height of the building which can be seen from the Longford by-pass. This atrium is a key part of the energy strategy for the building with extensive use being made of passive design technology.
